Speaker:

You. Hello, and welcome to the

Speaker:

traveling Introvert. So something I talk a lot about

Speaker:

is recharging. And to

Speaker:

me, the essence of an introvert

Speaker:

being able to be successful lies

Speaker:

greatly in their ability for energy

Speaker:

management and to recharge.

Speaker:

Because without being

Speaker:

able to recharge,

Speaker:

we find it harder to set boundaries, we find

Speaker:

it harder to say no. We take on more work. We probably work

Speaker:

extra time or overtime outside of our normal working

Speaker:

hours just to try and get things done. We might find our brains being a

Speaker:

little fuzzy because we haven't had enough sleep, or we

Speaker:

can't concentrate because we have not

Speaker:

managed our energy, or we have not had the opportunity

Speaker:

to manage our energy. Sometimes there are outside things that

Speaker:

happen which makes it harder for us to

Speaker:

manage our energy and therefore we start feeling run

Speaker:

down, we start feeling foggy, we can't concentrate

Speaker:

or focus. We then maybe procrastinate,

Speaker:

then start dropping balls. These things

Speaker:

all happen. And then we're less like to be able to go out and network

Speaker:

at an event or talk to people for whatever reason

Speaker:

it might be. So for me,

Speaker:

energy management as an introvert is key.

Speaker:

Recharging is key. And so I want to

Speaker:

talk about ways to kind of framework for

Speaker:

Recharging reflecting on your energy Levels

Speaker:

Take regular moments to reflect on your energy levels and

Speaker:

identify patterns and triggers that affect your energy positively

Speaker:

or negatively. This self awareness is crucial

Speaker:

for effective energy management. Establishing

Speaker:

Boundaries Set clear boundaries to protect

Speaker:

your energy. Learn to say no to activities

Speaker:

or commitments that drain your energy without providing

Speaker:

significant value. Communicate your

Speaker:

boundaries to others and prioritize self care.

Speaker:

Cultivate healthy Habits Focus on

Speaker:

cultivating healthy habits that contribute to sustainable energy

Speaker:

levels. This includes getting enough sleep, eating

Speaker:

nutritious meals, staying hydrated, engaging in regular

Speaker:

exercise all of these habits. Healthy

Speaker:

habits provide a solid foundation for managing and replenishing

Speaker:

your energy. Harness

Speaker:

stress management Techniques stress

Speaker:

can deplete your energy far quicker than anything else. So

Speaker:

explore stress management techniques such as mindfulness,

Speaker:

deep breathing exercises, meditation, or

Speaker:

engaging in activities that bring joy and

Speaker:

relaxation. Find strategies that work best for you

Speaker:

to effectively manage stress and maintain your energy

Speaker:

balance allocate your time. Wisely

Speaker:

prioritize your time and tasks according to their importance and alignment with

Speaker:

your energy levels. Focus on high priority quality tasks

Speaker:

during peak energy periods and reserve low energy

Speaker:

periods for more routine and less demanding activities.

Speaker:

Effective time Management optimizes energy usage

Speaker:

and productivity at the end of the day. Rest sorry.

Speaker:

Recharge with rest and Relaxation make rest and relaxation a priority

Speaker:

in your routine. Set aside time for restorative activities

Speaker:

such as taking breaks, practicing relaxation techniques, engaging in

Speaker:

hobbies, or spending quality time with loved ones. Recharge your energy

Speaker:

through activities that bring you joy. Then there's

Speaker:

gratitude and positivity. Cultivating an attitude of

Speaker:

gratitude and focusing on positive thinking can help you

Speaker:

recognize and appreciate the things that energize you and bring you fulfillment in

Speaker:

your life. Surround yourself with positive influences

Speaker:

and engage in activities that uplift and inspire you.

Speaker:

Evaluate and adjust regularly evaluate your energy

Speaker:

management practices and make necessary adjustments. Assess the

Speaker:

effectiveness of your strategies, identify areas for improvement and

Speaker:

adapt your approach to better align with your changing needs and

Speaker:

circumstances. Continuously refine your energy

Speaker:

management practices. By following the

Speaker:

Recharge Energy Management Framework, you can create a sustainable

Speaker:

and balanced approach to managing your energy, prioritize self

Speaker:

awareness, healthy habits and effective time management to

Speaker:

maintain optimal energy levels and enhance overall well being

Speaker:

for you as an introvert, which is crucial. So thank you

Speaker:

for listening. This is Janice at the Career Introvert, helping you build your brand and

About the Podcast

The Traveling Introvert
A bite-sized podcast about traveling while running a business and being an introvert.
Not knowing what introversion was until my 30s, I feel that I wasted some of my early years by not really understanding myself. An inspiration for my business is that I want to help others understand themselves better, earlier on in their careers and their lives. Introversion is a very misunderstood area – introverts can suffer mentally and physically because people typecast them or act negatively towards them. It’s not nice to be trapped in a little box. When you label somebody, they tend to act like that label, which stops people from achieving their true potential. I don’t let being an introvert define me, I let it guide me.
