Coaching That Fits Your Life

Published on: 25th March, 2025

Asynchronous coaching offers flexibility and convenience, allowing both the coach and the client to communicate and exchange ideas without having to meet at the same time. This method is particularly beneficial for introverts, as it provides ample time to process, reflect, and respond thoughtfully. It alleviates the pressure of instant replies that come with real-time calls, helping avoid Zoom fatigue and allowing participants to engage in the conversation at their own pace and environment, whether it's while pacing in the kitchen or lighting a candle. Moreover, clients can revisit short voice notes for clarity and confidence boosts, unlike hour-long calls. This style suits busy professionals or people with varying needs and commitments, enabling them to integrate coaching into their lives without having to carve out large, rigid time slots. Asynchronous coaching supports a more personalized experience and can lead to deeper insights and breakthroughs when conversations can flow naturally without time constraints. Lastly, clients can control how quickly they consume the coaching material, listening at their preferred speed.

Hello and welcome to the travelling introvert. Today, I want to talk about the magic of asynchronous coaching. So this is something that I've been doing for a while and I didn't realize that other coaches weren't necessarily doing this or didn't see the benefits of the magic of asynchronous coaching. So, the reason why I love asynchronous coaching is, it means that I don't have to worry about being in front of a computer, at the same time every day or every week or the same time every month. It means I can still live my life and do other things while giving quality coaching, but, because here's the thing, have you ever wished for guidance that fits in perfectly into your schedule? Because that's basically what asynchronous coaching is. So asynchronous coaching is coaching that is done not at not at the same time. I should have a better explanation but it's you don't have to be on Zoom, you don't have to be on a call at the same time. Two people who are coach coachee and coach do not have to be communicating at the exact same time.

Asynchronous coaching is, for example, someone would send a message asking a question, oh, hey. I I have an interview. What should I say? And then the coach getting back at in some time could be within twenty four hours, five hours, whatever the agreed time period is with a response. So let me say why I the benefits of asynchronous coaching especially for introverts It gives more time to process and reflect like on a call you have to reply instantly because well social norms but wouldn't it be better to hear someone's full thoughts full thought hear them like work through some stuff take a breath reflect, and then respond. So, with asynchronous coaching you can even re listen to the question before answering. More time equals better insights, no more zoom fatigue and more movement. Video calls exhausting asynchronous coaching freedom. I can listen, think, talk while pacing my kitchen, or lighting a candle and you can reply for whatever feels best.

For me it's like it's really great to hear birds or background life of my clients messages it makes coaching feel far more human and personable. Less pressure more depth. In a one hour call it can feel rushed or like we must get to resolution within that time frame. With asynchronous coaching we can go deep without forcing it. Bigger breakthroughs actually tend to happen naturally whether it's in an hour or later on in the day it's fine. And what if you're a verbal processor? Bring on the rambles! Talking through your ideas without interruption or awkward nodding that's where the best moments happen. Whether it's you or me doing the rambling this kind of processing is pure gold. Of course, you can get instant replay on pep talks, you can save them, nobody re watches an hour long call but if that three minute voice note they gave you had clarity or confidence boost, you will save that and listen to it again and again and again.

But honestly, one of the really, really important things is being able to do this in a way that works with life. A lot of my clients don't need a full hour blocked on their calendar, they just need five or fifteen minute pockets of time. They might be doctors, they might be lawyers, they might have chronic illnesses, and so this takes away that pressure and that need to turn up at a set time every week. Some people like that structure and I definitely have that as an option, but that flexibility of asynchronous coaching means that you can fit coaching into your life too without stressing, carving out a big chunk of time. And speaking of schedules, with asynchronous coaching we don't need to stick to a rigid schedule, we can explore multiple topics circle back and let the conversation flow naturally often leading to unexpected but essential breakthroughs. And as a brief bonus, you know the really good thing about asynchronous coaching? You know when you watch a video back that you want to play it at two or three times the speed, you can do that with coaching. Listen to whatever speed suits you best and I will never know. So, this is why I love asynchronous coaching.

It's personalized, it fits in with your life, fits in with my life, it means I can get a vacation. So, when you're looking for coaches see if the coach that you are looking for offers asynchronous coaching and try it out for yourself. About the Podcast

The Traveling Introvert
A bite-sized podcast about traveling while running a business and being an introvert.
Not knowing what introversion was until my 30s, I feel that I wasted some of my early years by not really understanding myself. An inspiration for my business is that I want to help others understand themselves better, earlier on in their careers and their lives. Introversion is a very misunderstood area – introverts can suffer mentally and physically because people typecast them or act negatively towards them. It’s not nice to be trapped in a little box. When you label somebody, they tend to act like that label, which stops people from achieving their true potential. I don’t let being an introvert define me, I let it guide me.
